The Italian Society of Logic and Philosophy of Science (SILFS) is pleased to endorse the call for papers for the FINO Graduate Conference “On the Intersection of Formal Theories and Philosophy”, which will be held in-person on September 28-29, 2023, at the University of Eastern Piedmont, Department of Humanities, in Vercelli, Italy. The Conference is sponsored by the Compagnia di San Paolo and is part of a series of events organized by the Ph.D. Program in Philosophy of the Northern Italy Philosophy Consortium (FINO).

The Conference, conducted in English, will focus on the intersection of formal theories and philosophy and cover a broad range of philosophical areas, including epistemology, philosophy of language, philosophy of mathematics, philosophy of science, ontology, and metaphysics. We welcome proposals for contributions from university students in any area related to the Conference theme, with participation from highly encouraged underrepresented minorities.
To participate, please submit an abstract (max 500 words), prepared for anonymous review, and a brief curriculum vitae to samuele.iaquinto@uniupo.it by May 7, 2023. Contributions should be suitable for a 40-minute presentation followed by a 20-minute Q&A session. Notification of acceptance will be delivered by June 4, 2023.
Vercelli, located in Piedmont, is easily accessible from both Turin and Milan, with a train journey of only 50 minutes from both locations. There are no participation fees, but participants will need to arrange their own accommodation. The University of Eastern Piedmont will cover the social dinner and coffee breaks.
